A balanced approach

Whether you’re trying to hit your longest drive, a precise iron shot or accurate shot around the green, a big key is good balance before and during the stroke.

It is very difficult to make consistent, solid contact with an unstable foundation and unnecessary movement.

On the practice tee, try hitting a few easy pitch shots with your feet close together, approximately two inches apart. Focus on turning the upper body back and through at a speed that is comfortable to you, ensuring that you can hold your balance during the swing.

Once you can make solid contact, place the feet back to their original position and try some more swings at the same speed. You will be surprised at how much more consistent your strikes are!
