Sam Jong Kim and Yeol Gul Kim took first place with 41 Stableford points in the Bahrain round of the Audi quattro Cup, hosted by Audi Bahrain on the Montgomerie championship course at the Royal Golf Club.
Following their success, the winning pair will now represent Bahrain in the Audi quattro Cup World Final 2015 in Los Cabos, Mexico at the end of November.
More than 60 golfers took part in the event, which is part of the world’s largest amateur golf tournament series played in a Greensome Stableford format.
After a closely-contested competition that resulted in a three-way tie for first place, Sam and Yeol were crowned the winners on a stroke index countback which sees score cards compared hole for hole starting with the most difficult hole first (Hole Stroke Index 1) until a clear winner is determined.
Rashid Musbah and Saleh Juma followed in second place, with Hanne Hansen and David Axtell finishing in third place.
Audi Bahrain sales manager Allen Blake said: “We received a great response when we brought the tournament back to Bahrain last year and are very happy to see that success continue.
“Precision, passion and performance are values that drive us as a brand and we enjoy seeing those same principles in action out on the course. We wish Sam Jong Kim and Yeol Gul Kim the very best of luck at the World Final.”
The series is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, having first been established in Germany in 1991. More than 100,000 golfers are expected to compete worldwide, across more than 800 tournaments in 53 countries this year. This event was the third in Bahrain with earlier tournaments being held in 2010 and 2014.
