YOUNG GUNS Arsenal U21s put Seef to the sword with a convincing 6-0 victory in the latest GulfWeekly Ladies League clash to keep leaders Venus in their sights. Prolific forward Kia Hanahoe grabbed a hat-trick, notching her opening salvo in the first minute, to keep her goal-in-every-game record going and proudly lead the scoring list this season.
Tiffany Murray grabbed a goal in the 12th minute and magnificent Maggie Stephens kept the pressure on just 60 second later when she notched the first of a brace. Stephens’ final strike in the 45th minute came after a mazy run before a power strike into the bottom left corner.
Venus remain two points clear at the top of the table with 19 having played a game less than their nearest rivals Arsenal Ladies and Arsenal U21s, both on 17 points. They can pull further ahead if they beat fifth-placed Joga tonight as the Arsenal teams face each other in a vital derby fixture.
