One of the kingdom’s most popular shopping malls is launching a new initiative which aims to punish pesky parkers and create a more stress-free experience.
City Centre Bahrain has unveiled a campaign titled Park Right, which aims to raise awareness on responsible parking and courteous behaviour by encouraging visitors to park in the correct designated areas, not to take up disabled spots without a valid permit, and most notably, cars which take up two spaces by parking across the line.
This follows the recent installation of the new parking guidance system which allows visitors to easily find parking spaces and locate their vehicle upon leaving.
Park Right was launched with an educational video on YouTube which highlighted how volunteers from the Ministry of Social Development will approach drivers who have parked correctly and will reward them with a treat, while drivers who have parked incorrectly will be approached and told to park correctly.
Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, senior mall manager for City Centre Bahrain, said: “We would like to thank the Ministry of Social Development for their support in this initiative and thank all volunteers who participated in the campaign. The Park Right campaign further demonstrates our continuous efforts to enhance our visitors’ experience.”
