Cartoon Planet, Tubli, is hosting a ‘Cartoons & Illustrations’ workshop until Saturday. Bahraini cartoonist Mohammed Al Mahdi will lead the last workshops tonight and Saturday with classes taking place at 5pm-6.30pm for children and 7pm-8.30pm for adults. A ‘Taste’ exhibition will be on display at Malja, Amwaj Islands until August 30. It features a collection of experiments by a group of artists in an effort to synthesise through art.

Unified under the notion of ‘identity’, each artist chose to transform an object into another sense other than the obvious sense perceived from it. The aim is to push boundaries of imagination and to allow brains to wander and experiment without expectations.

The Bahrain National Museum is holding an interactive exhibition using stories from the famous collection of fables, Kalila wa Dimna, bringing to life the characters, their relationships and lessons. The event will run until September 30.

FOOTGOLF continues to grow in popularity at the Royal Golf Club with scores of players heading to Riffa Views every Sunday evening to participate.

This fast-growing sporting craze combines football and golf with players kicking a football into giant-sized cups on a golf course in as few shots as possible.

The competitions kick off at 7pm under floodlights on the main Colin Montgomerie-designed course and are open to all.

‘We are now getting 60 to 70 people each Sunday - it’s really taking off!” explained Sue Addison, senior marketing & PR manager.

A FootGolf at The Royal Golf Club page has been set up on Facebook for enthusiasts and players are urged to book early to secure the best kick-off times.
