The Young Goans Club in Manama is running a Youth Leadership Programme which aims to help children to improve their communication and leadership skills. There will be a two-hour session every week for eight weeks, and registration is required.

Thursday (October 8)
Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa is hosting the 2015 edition of Sofitel Grape Days to celebrate French beverages and art-de-vivre until October 31.

A trance line-up is performing at a Waveform event at Café Amsterdam from 8pm. Artists include Lisa Rippin, Moody and Zahrain Baxxter, Ramy and Andy Collins.

The acclaimed Eifman Ballet of St Petersburg will perform an adaption of Anna Karenina, one of the best-known works of the famous Russian novelist Leo Tolstoy, at the Bahrain National Theatre today and tomorrow. Both shows will begin at 8pm and tickets are available from Virgin Megastore in City Centre Bahrain.

Friday (October 9)
Coca-Cola is hosting a ‘Create Beautiful Things’ exhibition and auction for upcycled art at the Amwaj Marina from 2pm-8pm. Workshops will also be on offer from various local artists. Entry is free and all proceeds raised will go towards the Dreams Society.

The second annual Trib Fest will take place today at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Janabiya. The event is an open air family-friendly music festival and will involve 21 tribute acts from the UK performing classic hits by artists such as The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Rod Stewart, Lady Gaga and Tom Jones.

Local acts, including popular rock band Hot Laser, will also be performing at an after-party show at the club.

The event will run from 10am-10pm and tickets are available from https://www.tribfestbh.com/ or from the club reception. They are BD15 for adults and BD7 for children aged 12 and under.

Monday (October 12)
A night celebrating Mexican culture will take place at the Cultural Hall from 8pm. Encarnacion Vazquez, Jose Luis Ordonez and Rodolfo Ritter will perform a variety of opera arias and authentic Mexican songs.

Tuesday (October 13)
The first edition of ArtBahrain will be held until October 16 at a specially-constructed marquee at Bahrain Bay. It will feature works from acclaimed artists from the kingdom and the rest of the world, such as Jamal Abdul Rahim, Fayeeka Al Hassan, Shaikha Marwa bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Shaikha Lulwa bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Uzma Dadabhai, Fuad Al Binfalah and Mariam Fakhro.

Today is the last day of The Vocalist Season 2 heats at Crowne Plaza Bahrain’s Harvester. Singers are invited to enter and the grand final will take place on October 20.

October 21 – Push yourself to the limits, conquer some fears and face a real challenge. GIB abseiling event in support of Think Pink Bahrain. Abseil 170 feet down the Al Dowali (GIB) building. To register, send an email to: GIB.thinkipink@gib.com with your pledge.

The 50 highest pledges will get the chance to do the abseiling. The minimum age is 21. Seek advice with your doctor in advance to seek advice if you have any medical conditions or concerns.
