City Centre Bahrain, unveiled its ‘Fall for Fashion’ extravaganza over the weekend that showcased its annual autumn/winter fashion and retail designs available in the mall’s stores.

The popular shopping destination invited fashionistas and industry innovators to be a part of the ‘Bahrain Fashion Weekend’ event which included fashion shows, make-up demonstrations and a chance to win a chic Lexus RCF350 car.

The second annual event, showcased up to four daily fashion shows running between the hours of 5pm-9pm. They featured the latest designs for women, men and children and presented over 60 fashion brands.

Throughout the month, an autumn edition catalogue will be distributed featuring highlights of the latest seasonal trends, retail offers, in-store events and multiple prizes to be won.

“Last year, the event focused on ‘Bahrain Fashion Weekend,’ which successfully showcased over 50 fashion brands to large crowds of fashion-minded audiences. This year, given its popularity, the event will be bigger with more designers and events, expanding styles for men and children creating fashion opportunities for all,” said Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, senior mall manager for City Centre Bahrain.

During ‘Fall for Fashion’, the mall will present a limited-edition silk scarf, produced by Anada, to all customers who make purchases totalling more than BD200. All those who spend BD50 will also get the chance to win the car. To enter, shoppers must take their receipts to the customer service desk.

As part of the fashion month, Maison de Joelle will be hosting renowned UK-qualified make-up and beauty expert, Joelle Mardinian. She will conduct an exclusive two-day workshop at the Westin Hotel, City Centre Bahrain, on Friday and Saturday.

The workshops will include a variety of products, techniques and behind-the-scene beauty secrets for guests to enjoy.

Customers who purchase a minimum of BD100 in gift cards at the mall’s customer service desk will be able to register for the workshop, with limited seating available. Participants will receive complimentary gifts and vouchers presented by participating retailers and a certificate of participation.

The mall’s social media platforms will also be taking on a fashion-focused theme posting all the latest trends and designs, fashion ‘deals of the week’, tips on what to wear and a series of competitions featuring fashion prizes.

Camille’s Take: The kingdom’s fashion event of the season was launched with an opening show last Thursday evening in grand style featuring Kubra Al Qaseer, Woolhouse, Hoss Intropia and Saks Fifth Avenue.

It started with enchanting music preceding a procession of proud models dressed in fine tailored thobes and caftans from Woolhouse.

The stage was then set for the women to take to the catwalk. Wearing rich embellished Jalabiyas with lux exotic fabrics handpicked by designer Kubra Al Qaseer, they were an instant crowd favourite. This was cool, sophisticated and completely captivated the appreciative audience with its Arabic ambience and authenticity.

Hoss Intropia also produced some memorable pieces, namely a pink and white floral floor-length number and a grey-blue embellished dress with an empire waist that was sheer and elegant. A camel-coloured pair of haram trousers combined nicely with a white sweater and nude heels for a perfect ‘day look’.

Saks Fifth Avenue showcased its usual range of high-end fashion brands using pieces similar to the recent show at La Fontaine.

My favourite feather vest was paired this time with an animal print jumpsuit that cinched at the waist. A black jumpsuit paired well with an ornately embroidered sweater which had an Eastern European influence with its intricate detailing and design.

But perhaps the most remarkable aspect of the event was the amazing atmosphere created by the stunning numbers of shoppers who gathered on all floors, stretching their necks to catch a glimpse of the show and added to its success.
