Putting practice

* Line up behind the ball and get down low to see the slopes on the green.
* Decide your aim SPOT a few inches in front of the ball and mark it with a tee in the ground.
* Take your normal setup and practice swings if necessary. Look at the hole a few times to get the feel for the distance then trace back from the hole to your marked point.

* When you make your stroke don’t look at the ball, but rather the tee marked in the green. As you make the stroke watch the ball roll over the tee marked in the ground, then naturally follow the ball to the hole. The advantage of using the spot method is that you are watching a spot rather than the ball and this produces a more fluid putting movement, improving your rhythm and distance control.
