Ford plan to keep on truckin’ along the roads of Bahrain as the American automotive company opened its newly-constructed Ford Trucks showroom in Mame’er, accompanied by distributor Almoayyed Motors.
The facility consists of a 300sq/m internal showroom, an 80sq/m external space, a 22,000sq/m workshop area and a 2,000sq/m spare parts warehouse area. The showroom can accommodate a maximum of three trucks and the service area can receive 250 trucks per day.
Ford Trucks general manager Haydar Yenigün was keen to emphasise that his company is striving to increase its global network.
He said: “The Middle East is very important for Ford Trucks and Bahrain is among the most important markets within the region. We will continue to expand our operations in GCC countries and in the Middle East region in order to get closer to our customers.
“In the midterm, we expect the Middle East market will constitute 25 per cent of our international sales and we aim to reach 10 per cent market share in Bahrain’s heavy commercial market within three years.”
At the launch, Ford displayed some of its vehicles which it hopes will be a hit with Bahrain-based companies, including the 1843T and 3535M construction tractor models. These can all be customised with transmission and cabin modules for both road and off-road conditions.
Tractors and construction vehicles are offered with a 10mm 500MPa chassis frame. The mixer series for construction purposes are offered in 6x4 and 8x4 versions with mixer capacity ranging between 7.7 and 12.7 cubic metres and carry a 350 PS power engine, while the 1843T tractor packs a 10.3L 430PS engine.
All Ford Trucks purchased in Bahrain will come with a two-year, unlimited distance warranty in Bahrain and an included ‘Hot Climate Package’. Features include increased air conditioner performance, improved radiation and filtration.
