An exhibition by nine Bahrain-based artists, titled ‘Multiple Images’, will be held at Malja Bahrain in Amwaj Islands until April 30. It is open every day from 10am-1pm and 4pm-10pm except Sundays and Mondays

More than 30 artworks will be on display from artists Beverly West, Carie Sauze, Imtiaz Ahmad, Irina Averinos, Jacqueline de Freitas, Leane Marshall, Meriel Cooper-Wallace, Nadia Aljar and Yusra Ahmed.

Al Riwaq Art Space is hosting a solo exhibition of Bahraini artist Ahmed Anan, named ‘Conceal and Reveal’.

The display aims to prove that while every individual tries to conceal their weaknesses, imperfections or what is taboo by law or collective tradition, that we often hide what is beautiful and valued by society.

The expo will run until May 1.

The Sheraton Hotel Bahrain has launched its new Golestan Restaurant menu, which features a fusion of classic Iranian- style dishes with contemporary elements. Tomorrow (April 21)
The Bahrain Bay Kitchen restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay is now hosting a Fisherman’s Night every Thursday from 7pm. It features an extensive seafood buffet from which guests can choose their own catch, as well as sushi and nigiri stations.

The Palm Association is hosting its 15th anniversary celebration ball from 7pm at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel. A Youth Festival is being organised by Discover Islam at the Um Al Darda Auditorium in Zinj – next to the New Millennium School – and will feature American speaker Kamal el Mekki.

He will tackle the topic of ‘Being Different, Making a Difference’.

Audiences at the event, which will take place between 3.45pm-7.30pm will be divided into two age groups, 12-16 and 17 -20. While seniors will delve into activities like personality testing, skill analysis, meeting professionals and CV writing, juniors will have edutainment activities, team-building exercises and problem solving tasks.

There will be a gaming station, a henna artist, language centres and bookshop stalls too, along with contests offering free tickets to Gravity Indoor Skydiving.

Friday (April 22)
A Hidden Pictures Challenge will be held at the KP Centre in Sehla this weekend from 7pm-8pm tonight and 11am to noon tomorrow. The event is aimed at testing observation, concentration and participation skills in young learners.

Prizes are on offer for those who find the most hidden objects in the shortest time, while every registered person will receive a complimentary Hidden Pictures magazine as well as a concession voucher to shop at Kingdom Pride.

Saturday (April 23)
A charity football tournament will take place at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Janabiya. There will be competitions in the U10 and U14 age categories, as well as various other entertainment activities, T-shirt sales, a prize raffle and more.

Entry to all tournaments is free for guests, but donations will be accepted. All money raised will go to Nepal charities and the event is being run by volunteers.

Gulf International Bank (GIB) is marking World Earth Day by organising a Tree Planting Initiative which will take place at the new Sitra Corniche between 9am and 11am. It is open to all members of the public. GIB hopes it will become an annual event and the bank has already registered on behalf of Bahrain on the global campaign site www.earthday.org

Monday (April 25)
The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay has launched its Fiesta Mexicana evenings every Monday at its Bahrain Bay Kitchen outlet from 7pm-11pm. It features a selection of traditional Mexican cuisine and beverages accompanied by music.

Tuesday (April 26)br> Discover a carnivore’s dream at Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre’s Baharat Restaurant’s Butcher’s Night every Tuesday from 6.30pm to 11pm.

The Gulf Hotel Bahrain’s popular poolside event, The Gulf Night Out, is back and will take place every Tuesday night. Guests can enjoy a variety of cuisines from 10 fine dining outlets and live cooking stations, including a barbecue. The event also features live performances from local band Al Rayash, followed by a Lebanese belly-dancing performance usually featured at the hotel’s Zahle outlet.
