Some fashionistas can look cool with a bag over their shoulder but only a few of them can talk the talk and walk the walk.
Michael Kors has shown the way with its first-ever New York street-style campaign, The Walk, led by a diverse group of trendsetters, namely singer/songwriter, founder of Saint Heron and CEO of Saint Records Solange Knowles, models Soo Joo Park and Nina Agdal, plus Princess Olympia of Greece.
“Fashion is a celebration of individual style, and I’ve always thought of New York City as the ultimate runway. The Walk was a great opportunity for us to see our favourite new autumn handbags through different filters,” said Michael Kors of the new campaign.
“Style is so subjective. There’s nothing more exciting to me than seeing my designs brought to life by different personalities.” Award-winning Michael Kors, born Karl Anderson, Jr in 1959, is a celebrated New York City-based American fashion designer. His namesake company, established in 1981, currently produces a range of products for Michael Kors Collection, MICHAEL Michael Kors and Michael Kors Mens, including accessories, footwear, watches, jewellery, ready-to-wear clothes and fragrance products.
He was the first women’s ready-to-wear designer for the French house Celine, from 1997 to 2003. The stars wearing his latest creations were captured by photographer Tommy Ton in the US city’s downtown area.
Staying true to their unique personal styles, the women showcased the new MICHAEL Michael Kors handbags - the Brooklyn series and the Isadore satchel - as well as this season’s ready-towear offerings.
“It was really a fun experience observing how each girl would make the clothes and accessories their own and while still being true to their everyday style,” said Ton.
Fans in Bahrain have been invited to get engaged with the campaign by posting streetstyle photographs of them wearing the brand’s designer gear. Michael Kors on Instagram and Twitter with #SidewalkSpotted, and a selection of user posts will be featured on the Michael Kors The Walk platform, MichaelKors.com/TheWalk The campaign is the first in an ongoing series, with new ‘style personalities’ joining Michael Kors The Walk each season to spotlight key handbags and clothes.
