Bahrain’s finest hospitality connoisseurs are enjoying the sweet taste of success after scooping prestigious prizes at the 2017 Food and Travel GCC Awards.

The ceremony, held last week at the Palazzo Versace in Dubai, encompasses the wider region, following the individual countries’ own award galas held in February.

The Swiss-Belhotel Seef is celebrating double delight after winning the ‘Best 4 Star Hotel’ award for a second consecutive year to go along with its Bahrain award, as highlighteded recently in GulfWeekly.

Delighted general manager Herve Peyre said: “We are honoured and humbled to be recognised as the best four-star location among all the GCC properties once again. The award is a confirmation that we are fulfilling our promise to our stakeholders and customers, and at the same time is an inspiration to further improve and innovate.

Also making Bahrain proud in the Best Asian Fusion category was Meisei, as did Nomad Eatery for Best Newcomer.

Organised by the Food and Travel Magazine, the gala dinner was attended by hoteliers, internationally-acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs.

Francesca Jackson, chairman of the Food and Travel GCC Awards Panel, said: “The discerning public have made their voices heard, with more than 1.15 million verified votes cast, choosing an elite band of finalists; ensuring the 2017 Food & Travel GCC Awards genuinely reflect not only public opinion but expert judgement too.

“This is testament to the depth and quality of the region’s flourishing hospitality industry, confirming the Gulf’s place on the culinary and tourism map.

“Food and Travel’s expert panel of hotel and restaurant inspectors have been tirelessly working for the last 12 months reviewing, researching and revisiting the finalists in their exhaustive and unbiased search for perfection; ensuring the Food and Travel GCC Awards remain the most sought-after awards in the region.”
