Membersand staff of the Royal Golf Club competed in a new golf tournament this week which raised more than BD3,000 for the family of staff member, JaafarAbdali, who recently died.
Jaafar, a ‘valued member’ of the club’s Golf Operations team, died suddenly while playing in a football match in his home village of Ekeron April 7. He was just 32 years of age and leaves behind a wife and two young children.
“I would like to thank all those who donated to this very worthy cause,” said Adam Dutson, Royal Golf Club tournament coordinator. “Jaafarwas a very popular member of our team and isgreatly missed by everyone who knew him.
“He was the main bread-winner in his family and I hope the money raised will help ease his family’s struggle at this difficult time. I would like to give special thanks to our ladies section, the Royalists and Silver Stars social golf groups and BehbehaniBrothers , who all kindly contributed to the cause.”
