Gulf Weekly Teenager powers ahead to clinch Ramadan competition

TEENAGER Sebastian Woodrow won the opening competition of the Royal Golf Club’s Ramadan PowerPlay Series with a score of 26 points. Earl Fountain took the runners-up spot with 25 points and Rob Lane clinched third place with 23 points.

Adam Dutson, the Royal Golf Club’s tournament coordinator was on hand after the competition to present prizes to the winners.

The exciting PowerPlay Stableford competition, which was played on the floodlit back 9 holes of the Royal Golf Club’s Montgomerie championship course, gives competitors a choice between the normal flag location and a harder PowerPlay flag option on each green.

In an added twist, competitors are forced to play the ‘black’ flag on at least three of their nine holes and those successfully completing the harder option receive double points for the respective hole.

Results:

1st Sebastian Woodrow (26 points), 2nd Earl Fountain (25), 3rd Rob Lane (23), 4th Tapan Vaidya (23), 5th Dena Wales (21).
