Words make articles. But today, my article
revolves around a single word … love.
I’m in Delhi right now, a place that has over the years of my absence while living in Bahrain indulged in an extremely fast paced and busy life.
On the way from the airport, it is evident that one part of India is racing ahead, for the lack of a better word, self-absorbed and is at the heels of the best modern cities, and there is another half of India, still struggling to keep within its blankets of traditions and culture.
With the Delhi NCRs developing extensively each day, buildings being constructed skywards and new brands overtaking the conventional array, there is a clear disparity where there are slums sandwiched between flats worth millions, and people battling to eke out a living.
In such a conflicted scenario, one may wonder, is the sun the only source of warmth here? Love is a four letter word that binds us together. In spite of all this, my answer to that question is no.
Family and friends is the reason we come here every vacation and the love and affection within the excitement that we receive is enough to remind us each time, Delhi still keeps afloat the famous motto- ‘Dilli dilwaalon ki’ (Delhi is of the magnanimous hearted).
The only difference now is, instead of the place resonating to us the idea of home, it is the people that do so.
Even while sprinting towards the finish line our family and friends have far from forgotten us, because, love is what keeps us together and love is what always will.
