Friday marked the first 18-hole competition of the Awali Golf Club (AGC) season and more than 70 players participated in warm and breezy conditions.
A high-scoring field saw new member Jonathan Jane win the Bill Brien Trophy with a Stableford score of 44 points.
Runner-up Salem Khalifa Masood scored 42 points on count-back from Eui Mo Koo. The top women’s scorer was Sarah Hobday with 36 points.
The tournament director for this competition was Rashid Al Qutami and prizes were presented by vice captain Serwin Rampersad.
Bill Brien was a member for many years and the club continues to sponsor the competition in his memory. He was a senior employee of the Kanoo Group and is remembered fondly.
