Cinema is powerful. Whenever I sit through a 90-minute-long movie my mind experiences sadness, joy, empathy and much more in one go.
As I get lost in the moment my heart pounds and beats and I’m totally taken in by the huge screen.
The charade of action and thrills make me forget the realities of life for a little while. Thoughts of a messy house, smells of a burned curry or what awaits in the future shadows away behind the thundering Dolby Sound.
I usually like to watch a thriller in the cinema. The mystery the hero is trying to untangle always grips my attention and I try to be as smart as the action hero. Comedy is another one of my favourites. Giggling at bawdy jokes or smiling at a subtle romance sets my heart free. I always walk out of the cinema with a wide smile and new zest for life.
The perks of having children is that I even get to watch all the animated films too and the truth is, I probably wait for new releases more eagerly than they do!
And, why not? A few good moments and a weekend well spent is a ‘must’ after a monotonous and somewhat mechanical long week.
‘Happiness is an obligation’ was one inspirational and motivating line I recently heard in a movie. The adrenaline rush may only last for a few minutes, but isn’t that what existence is all about … a few good moments!
