Lulu Hypermarket’s World Food Expo 2018 is being staged across its six branches in Bahrain highlighting a variety of cuisine available in stores from home and away.
The event was inaugurated by newly-elected Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board members, led by Samir Nass, at Dana Mall last Thursday evening.
Indian specialities from different states alongside a range of oriental favourites and Mediterranean cuisine opened the food festival fun which runs until April 4.
A cooking demonstration of Italian delicacies by chefs Michela, Martina and Daniela is being held alongside a prize cooking competition to find the ‘Best Pasta Chef in Bahrain’. To take part, customers must fill out a form available at all customer service counters and bring a prepared dish to the LuLu Hypermarket in Galleria Mall, Zinj, tomorrow.
A Street Food Festival will also be held, alongside a celebration of Biryani-style dishes and a mighty meaty Kebab Festival. On the home front, the festival will also showcase produce from Bahraini farms and arts and crafts products from Bahraini productive families will also be promoted.
LuLu Hypermarket Egypt and Bahrain director Juzer Rupawala, Lulu Hypermarket Egypt and Bahrain director, said: “It is well-known that Lulu Hypermarket’s treasury of great ingredients and superb hot foods section is very popular. Our World Food Festival will promote both, the ingredients in our aisles as well as the taste quotient of LuLu’s kitchens.”
