WORK is nearing conclusion to create a beach at one of the kingdom’s top hotels to satisfy the craving for sun, sea and soft sand expressed by thousands of guests and visitors to the five-star property.

The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay’s management believe its addition will transform it from an urban resort to a ‘complete island resort’.

Richard Raab, general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, said: “During our first three years, guests have been generous in their praise of Four Seasons, revelling in the many diversions we offer right here on our own private island in the city.

“When we asked what would make their experience more memorable, the answer was almost always the same: a beach. So we are delighted to now open the beach, which completes the hotel’s transition to a fully-fledged island resort.”

Shoppers and restaurant diners sitting on the terraces at The Avenues – Bahrain shopping, entertainment and dining destination opposite the hotel have been able to watch the construction work take shape and near its conclusion in recent weeks. The cost of the beach creation has not been revealed.

Curving along the private island’s sun-drenched southern shore, The Four Seasons Beach, a 160-metre (525-foot) expanse of pristine white sand, will be an ‘ideal retreat for all the family’, he added. In addition to a dedicated play area where children can enjoy building sandcastles, parents and couples can look forward to a quieter zone, providing a ‘tranquil haven’ to lounge in the sun, sip a cool drink or take in the city’s spectacular sunsets.

Set to open by this summer, The Four Seasons Beach will welcome hotel guests and spa members throughout the day at no additional charge.

Having previously worked at Four Seasons resorts from Hawaii to the Caribbean, Richard understands the attraction of gentle waves lapping against a beautiful stretch of white sand.

“For many, a dream getaway begins and ends at the beach, and even business travellers often pack a swimsuit just in case they can steal away for a few hours in the sun. I’m very excited to bring this idyllic vision to life – in luxurious Four Seasons style – at our new beach this summer,” he added.

Beach lovers can look forward to the attentive service of Four Seasons staff on hand to offer everything from fresh fruit skewers and refreshing beverages, to an array of high-end sun care products and a chair-side sunglasses cleaning and repair service.

Guests can also choose from a lunch and snack menu, with food served directly on the beach. After dark, the new outdoor space will transform into a vibrant venue hosting torch-lit events, and it will also be available for group bookings.

Since launching in March 2015, Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay has become a popular getaway for both business and leisure guests, owing to its striking design and extensive range of amenities, including restaurants by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, a tranquil spa, and an expansive outdoor pool set amid lush landscaping and the glittering backdrop of the Manama skyline.

Visitors can also enjoy easy access to The Avenues – Bahrain. A regular water taxi service carries guests from the hotel to the mall in just three minutes.

Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay is giving guests an extra reason to celebrate the summer, with a special Family Package. Guests who book a suite for three or more nights will receive 50 per cent savings on the rates for a connecting room, offering additional space and comfort for the whole family to enjoy. Premium high-speed internet access and a round-trip transfer by water taxi for two adults and two children per night are included as part of the package. For bookings, call 17115000.
