ONE of the joys of attending launch events is that very often the guests are treated to a little gift for attending. The opening of the new Mondelez International production plant was no exception.
Most of the pack of hacks drove away (one, just about, after sinking in sand in the car park and needing to be towed out) with boxes containing a few packets of Oreo and Barni biscuits, cheddar cheese spread and packets of concentrated Mango juice, plus a cute little Oreo shaped memory stick that didn’t work. But, as the luck of the Irish would have it, radio personality David Bloomer’s package contained something extra … a mysterious electronic gadget. “I’ve no idea what it is or how it works,” he told a friend of the Whisperer.
