One of the world’s top fashion brands has made the transition from revealing to concealing stylishly easy with a collection specially prepared for Ramadan.

Mango and Marks & Spencer have joined a growing trend for fast-fashion retailers to create lines targeting Muslim customers.

The collection includes casual clothes such as jackets, kaftans, leggings, tunics and oversized shirts, in addition to festive outfits including long dresses, midi skirts in fantasy fabrics and double-layer body wraps.

It will go on sale ahead of the start of Ramadan when Muslims fast during daylight hours. They traditionally join together with family and friends to break their fasts. Hotels and restaurants are already well-prepared for Iftar and Ghabga gatherings across the island.

“The globalisation of collections is part of the business development the brand has been applying to different markets for more than 10 years now,” the Barcelona-based company said.

“Arabic fashion is witnessing a revolution without precedent. In a booming market, Mango has been accompanying a generation of women with a special interest in fashion for more than 10 years now. The brand’s offerings are essentially designed for everyday wear, but without overlooking important celebrations such as Ramadan.

“Understanding the characteristics of markets such as those in Arab countries is part of our DNA.”

This year’s collection is both feminine and elegant with pretty colour palettes, accessories and silhouettes.

Evening wear takes centre stage with modest lengths and warm earthy, nude and copper tones, highlighted by opulent satin and intricate lace work. The brand is showcasing a range of oversized and flowy trousers in unique prints and colours too.

Marks & Spencer says its statement occasion wear offers ‘confidence and chic silhouettes’ across a new collection designed for customers in Bahrain, and will be ‘perfect’ for evening iftars, pre-dawn suhoors and Eid celebrations.

The collection includes an on-trend colour palette of buttery pastel tones, muted bloom prints, lace detailing and embellishments

The Ramadan collection has a contemporary take on a timeless aesthetic for the modern woman, with a versatile range of dresses, tailored tops and layered chiffon pieces.

These silhouettes are brought to life across a colour palette of burgundy, oyster, magenta, and colour of the season lilac. Floral prints are given a new take with dipped hemlines, embellished high necklines and bell sleeve detailing with the maxi dress style key for a luxurious touch.

Everyday essentials are elevated with high neck tops given subtle details from lace finishings to embellished necklines and cuffs.

With the addition of shimmering metallics and intricate lace detailing, the collection is finished with eye-catching embellishments and jewels across necklines and ruched waistlines.
