Over the years Parisian fashion house Chloé has produced a series of ‘must-have’ handbags sending celebrities and accessory fanatics into a tizzy every time a new collection appears.

The cult-like following all began in 2005 when the brand launched its slouchy Paddington bag featuring a gold padlock which was spotted on the arms of celebrities such as Jessica Alba and Kate Bosworth.

Thirteen years later and Chloé’s still has the ‘wow’ factor with a new line that will surely impress and have shoppers clambering to stores to get their hands on the chic and functional creations.

The autumn / winter 2018-19 accessories aim to ‘further the vision’ that creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi established with her feminine debut collection while reflecting an expanded field of inspiration.

As first seen on the runway, each new bag design will highlight the season’s silhouettes through a varying proposition in texture, colours and recurring Chloé signatures such as the small horses embroidered onto leather.

New features include the quilted leather or the spazzolato sfumatto smoked treatment, and the baroque C emblem arranged as a decorative motif. Rounded shapes – a hallmark of the house – create a coherent message; and, as always, the versatility of each style remains essential.

Without further ado, here are the bags:

The Tess:

This rounded day bag, which is making its debut this season, features two straps of varying widths and the signature O – a recurring House reference to infinite femininity – in gold and silver finishes.

It is sophisticated and compact and available in smooth leather with shimmering highlights, as bi-material leather and suede, or encrusted with small horses on earth-toned leather inspired by the collection’s prints. Style tip: Wear the bag cross-body to highlight its timeless design.

The Roy:

Although it is conceived as a day bag, it features special detailing for a touch of elegance. It boasts two large O rings in perfect balance as an updated Chloé signature and the material contrast is another aspect with suede, smooth leather, glossy lambskin, and a gradation effect among the options. The Roy Bucket transposes these elements into a roomy, wearable style with broad appeal.

The Drew Bijou:

Introduced in 2014, the Drew is considered an iconic House design with its day-to-night functionality and a double-lock clasp that reinforces a restrained yet precious statement. The bag is adorned with a chain composed of multiple rings evoking a bracelet.

A long leather strap counterbalances the jewellery reference. As a bag that swings fluidly in the hand with graceful ease, this Chloé signature piece becomes a dynamic collectible.

The brand can be snapped up at Saks Fifth Avenue in City Centre Bahrain.
