A Dubai-based luxury couture fashion label has created a series of glamorous gowns in rosey hues to help raise awareness about breast cancer.

Alina Anwar Couture’s five-piece pink collection, called I AM PINK, features elegant evening wear including embroidery, crystals and beadwork…ensuring that every female feels like the belle of the ball.

“I wanted to remind women that when they wear any of these dresses from the collection -- whether for going out for a special dinner with loved ones, family or friends -- to be aware, to be on top of their health and to visit their doctor regularly,” said designer Alina who has always been fascinated by fashion. “I wanted it to be a conversation starter that could enlighten more minds and create more awareness of this terrible illness. Not only does each piece serve as a healthy reminder but it looks great, fits incredibly well and is comfortable and stylish.”

According to Breast Cancer Research Foundation, breast cancer is the most common disease in women worldwide and the second most common cancer overall. It is the most frequently diagnosed among women in 140 of 184 countries which now represents one in four of all cancers in women globally. During October, Alina pledged 10 per cent of the total brand sales revenue for this specific collection to be donated directly to a chosen charity.

Alina, whose designs are inspired by travelling, nature and vintage style icons, added: “By simply adding a touch of pink to your wardrobe, you can help increase attention and awareness for the cause, helping thousands of men and women in need today. More than symbolism, this campaign is to show our moral support and unity with the community.”

Her designs include a two-piece suit set with a structured blazer and wide legged trouser and an embroidered gown featuring a fitted bodice and nipped-in waist that falls to an A-line gown. The A-line gown boasts metallic embroidery embossed with tiny iridescent round crystals and beadwork. There is also a rose pink strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and delicate mesh overlay that incorporates eye-catching glitter and pearl design as well as a pink sleeveless embroidered dress featuring an all-over feathered motif accented with pink sequins. She also uses floral appliqués. Alina’s designs are made to empower women, making them feel beautiful and confident.
