We’ve finally got to December folks,

It’s almost the end of the year!

Take out your scarves and warm winter coats,

Yes, bring out all that gear!

Schools are soon to wrap up,

The end of 2019’s almost here,

City Center’s starting to light up,

And holidays are about to begin, oh dear!

What an exciting time of the year this is. With the winter vacations right around the corner, I can’t wait to get cracking on my list of things-to-do. There is a new video game that has been sitting on my desk since September and there are four books that I really want to read. Then there is that new sport I wanted to try and then…well, it’s quite a list. However, one of the things I am most excited about is that this is the time of the year when we can all be together as a family. My sister will be home for the holidays as she has time off from her university. Holidays are also a time to remind you about the things that are most important to you and you are thankful for such as family, good health, friends, freedom and so forth.

Additionally, from a more realistic point of view, holidays are a great time to check your progress, catch up or plan ahead. For me, these holidays are great to prepare for my GCSE mocks and spend time with my family and friends. It is also a time to rewind, rejuvenate and replenish! One can revise their perspectives and take a fresh, informed outlook towards decisions. It is also a great time to go on vacation and visit new places, family and friends.

Moreover, with Bahrain National Day, Christmas and New Year’s fast approaching, there is even more reason to celebrate. The entire island shall soon be decked in light, colours and decorations. I love this time of the year. There is excitement, fun, events and so much to look forward to!
