I’m not sure how well I would have done, as a survivor I mean, if I was born in a different century. For instance, I can’t imagine how my life would have been if I was a cavewoman.

Imagine foraging around outside for something to eat - perhaps a species now considered extinct even. There’s no denying that life back then would have been TOUGH, but I guess we all would have had muscles so defined and bodies so finely fit that we wouldn’t have stressed too much about not being able to find any food. Just a glimpse at my beautifully cavewoman carved calf and all my hunger would have just disappeared!

Around the 1800s our world became industrialised. That meant less of the bartering and wild berry picking, and more of the scent of soot and the sound of cogs in a machine turning. Little children were even used to work some parts of the machine that could not be accessed by those with bigger hands - who said child fatality rates were not abysmal. But alas, capitalism!

Now, here we are, 2020. With a world economy so large and connected, our ancestors would simply guffaw at the existence of emerging industries like food delivery service. Imagine explaining Uber Eats or Talabat to a caveman... I’m unsure how well that would go down, considering the caveman must literally risk it all when hunting for food. On the other hand, I similarly risk being blinded when suddenly exposed to sunlight, as I walk outside for the first time in days to grab my Al Abraaj Talabat order...
