The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) hosted an action-packed Ebrahim K Kanoo Drag and Drift Night last week, offering members of the FJ Cruiser, Supra and 86 motoring clubs a chance to socialise and show off their latest wheels.
The event, one of the most popular in the calendar of “The Home of Motorsports in the Middle East”, gave participants a chance to bring their very own cars and push them to their limits within a safe and controlled environment.
Jalal Almutawa, manager of the FJ Cruiser club noted: “This evening was a great opportunity for the 175 members of the FJ Cruiser club, as well as the Supra and 86 clubs to come together and share our passion for our cars.”
Those who participated on the track could either power their vehicles down BIC’s quarter-mile drag strip and/or test their oversteering and counter-steering skills while drifting around the circuit’s Vehicle Dynamics Area.
Abdulla Anber, manager of the Supra club said: “I am looking forward to getting on the track tonight. There are a few recent upgrades I have made to my car and events like this give us an opportunity to test them on the track.”
In addition, the event also featured activities and games, including a pull-the-Prado competition, free dragster experience, raffle draws and a food and beverage area. In total, the event attracted over 150 motoring enthusiasts.
Yousef Aldosari, manager of the 86 club commented: “We usually like to participate in big events like this to give our members a chance to socialise with one another and learn more about modifying their cars to drag race and drift. We have been around for the last 7 years and tend to participate in quite a few events between September and April.”
The event was held in collaboration between the Bahrain International Circuit and Ebrahim K Kanoo.
