A new fertility centre vows to “turn hope into happiness” for parents through smart medical solutions – mainly in vitro-fertilisation (IVF).
The state-of-the-art Royal Fertility Centre in Riffa, under the Royal Hospital for Women and Children (RHWC), was opened by Health Ministry primary healthcare chief executive Dr Jaleel Al Sayed, on behalf of Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh.
Guests were taken on a tour of the centre by its head Dr Hatem Shawky, a specialist consultant in the field and senior consultant for Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Infertility at the RHWC.
The luxury facility – the only one to be operating within a specialised hospital according to National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) guidelines – offers a range of assisted reproductive treatment options for both men and women.
“With the launch of the centre, we aim to help people, and society at large, embrace the beauty of parenthood,” Dr Hatem told the GulfWeekly.
“I’m excited to lend my expertise in ensuring optimal fertility care for those who require it,” added the medic who brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the field.
RHWC chief executive Rohit Srivastava said the facility would assist prospective parents to understand and realise their chances of success in conceiving through the various fertility options available.
“Through the centre’s multi-disciplinary approach, we aim to raise the bar of fertility treatments and provide extensive family-focused care in Bahrain,” he said. RHWC, operating in Riffa since March last year, is the only hospital dedicated to treatment of women and children in Bahrain. It offers a range of services across 30 disciplines and has renowned experts in major specialties including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and neonatology, laparoscopic surgeries, cosmetology, aesthetic surgery and in vitro fertilis.
