Holly Jackson’s New York Times bestselling novel, A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, is being adapted for the BBC by writer Poppy Cogan.

The six-part series, still in pre-production, will be made by Moonage Pictures (The Pursuit of Love), and will film this year for broadcast on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. The interesting read will truly translate well onto TV as it is about high schooler Pippa Fitz-Amobi turning into Nancy Drew in her cookie-cutter, small town of Fairview after she takes on a criminal case.

The town is still haunted by Andie Bell’s murder, a seemingly perfect and popular high school senior who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend Sal Singh, before he killed himself.

The police posthumously charged Sal with the teen’s death based on whatever evidence they had come across at the time. The case was then closed.

Five years later, Pippa decides to re-examine the case and starts to find inconsistencies and evidence that could prove Sal’s innocence.

How far will she go for that ‘A’ and the truth?
