Director Zack Snyder is all geared up about turning the best-selling videogame franchise into a thrilling movie and he may have Netflix on his side.
The filmmaker is interested in making a Gears of War movie and Netflix, who already has a good working relationship with him, may give him control of the project.
The original creator of the game Cliff Bleszinski also took to Twitter to voice his approval after Zack shared his interest in an interview with IGN.
However, Cliff has one condition if Zack is serious about taking up the feat. He wants actor Dave Bautista to play the central character, Marcus.
That shouldn’t be a problem as Zack already has a good working rapport with Dave after working with the former WWE and Guardians of the Galaxy star before.
Plus, Dave has already been quite vocal in his interest in helming the movie as well.
Apparently, it may just be a matter of time before Netflix puts Zack in charge of their Gears of War project as the streaming giant has previously signed an exclusive first-look deal with him.
Netflix is already set to launch Zack’s two-part Star Wars-inspired Rebel Moon, and is looking to have him return for a sequel to his Army of the Dead franchise.
