BTS star Jung Kook has finally launched his much-awaited first solo album Golden.
The remix album which features 11 different songs of various genres, is centred around Jung’s new track Standing Next To You.
The 26-year-old K-pop sensation released the music video on Friday for the track Standing Next To You, which received more than 4.5 million views within the first couple of hours.
In an interview with British GQ magazine, Jung spoke about some of the differences while recording without his fellow BTS members.
“While working on the album by myself and performing on stage along, I noticed things about myself that I was unaware of – the good points and the areas I’m lacking in,” Jung said.
“In terms of music, I found myself realising, ‘Oh I can do these kinds of things as well, huh?”
Golden topped this week’s music poll on Friday when excited fans voted, choosing the pop-icon’s re-recorded album as their favourite new music release of the past week. Bringing in almost 88 per cent of the vote, it beat new music releases from Olivia Rodrigo, who features in the new Hunger Games film’s sound track with her song Can’t Catch Me Now.
