Sensational popstar Lana Del Ray has shocked fans with the announcement of her new country album, Lasso.
The alternative singer told Billboard at its pre-Grammy event in Los Angeles that she has decided to ‘make a switch in her career and try something new’.
“If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country – we’re going country. It’s happening,” she said.
However, that’s all the American singer-songwriter revealed and fans are yet to hear more about the album.
Lasso will be the hitmaker’s 10th studio LP, following her album Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd released in March 2023.
Lana’s songs are generally known for their cinematic quality and exploration of tragic romance and glamour.
The star has acquired a long list of accolades throughout the course of her career, including 11 nominations for the Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe. She was also honoured at the Hitmakers Awards by Variety for being one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the 21st century.
