American mystery drama The Perfect Couple is out now on Netflix.
Starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning and Eve Hewson, the adaptation of the 2018 novel of the same name tells the story of Amelia (Eve) who is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket, an island in Massachusetts, until a body found hours before the ceremony turns the attendees into suspects.
“The Perfect Couple is a murder mystery set over the Fourth of July weekend on the island of Nantucket, it is juicy, elegant, tense, and a little bit sensual,” show creator Jenna Lamia explained in an interview. “It is my favourite kind of show to watch; a thriller with multiple love stories embedded in the narrative.”
Nicole acts as Amelia’s future mother-in-law and murder mystery novelist Greer Garrison Winbury.
“I grew up on (murder mysteries) and... I haven’t seen one like this for a while, so it was really exciting to be a part of it and to be able to produce it as well,” Nicole said at the series’ UK premiere in London.
Novel author Elin Hilderbrand is known for her romance novels, which usually take place on and around Nantucket.
The Perfect Couple marks her first dive into the murder mystery genre.
