AMERICAN drama film The Piano Lesson releases on Netflix tomorrow.
Set in 1936 Pittsburgh in the aftermath of the Great Depression, it follows the Charles family and the family heirloom piano, which documents their history through carvings by an enslaved ancestor.
The cinematic creation is an adaptation of the namesake 1987 play.
Denzel Washington has produced the movie with his children John David Washington who plays Boy Willie, and Malcom Washington as director.
The film first premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado and Toronto International Film Festival this year, and was also released in select theatres in the US. It holds a score of 91 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes and its cast were honoured at several film festivals worldwide.
