KICKSTART your weekend with a range of cultural events being held as part of the ongoing Spring of Culture festival this week.
Qalali Folk Band, a Bahraini musical act that boasts a rich history stretching back more than 100 years, will stage a cultural performance, featuring traditional songs, on Saturday, at Dar Al Muharraq, from 8pm onwards.
Rasha Omran, one of the leading poetic and intellectual voices in Syria and the Arab region, will stage a lecture at the Ibrahim Al Arrayed House (House of Poetry) on Monday (February 10), from 8pm onwards.
In addition to being a poet, Rasha has been an active cultural figure.
