More and more we read of workers being arrested after being accused by their sponsors of absconding from the company and stealing money and paperwork.
In each case it turns out these workers have previously filed cases against those same sponsors for non-payment of wages and other such mistreatment. The one thing we never hear about is said sponsor being arrested for his or her part in the debacle.
Let’s face it, you would have to be extremely thick (and therefore presumably incapable of pulling off a robbery in the first place) to steal and run away from your company and then go to the police and file a case against the owner of that same company. Doh!
Coincidentally, workers who are accused of running away often get deported as soon as the sponsor can organise a flight and if an accuser in not in the country to follow up on the case he or she has filed, the case is dropped. How very convenient for the sponsor.
