Ramadan is upon us once again and with it comes shorter working hours for the Muslim population. Fair enough, it can’t be easy having to spend all day without food and water.
If it were me I would want to get home as soon as possible to break my fast too. But therein lies the crux of the issue. It’s not just the Muslim community that goes without sustenance during the daylight hours it’s the non-Muslim populous too. Food and drink is banned in all offices and public areas... the same areas the rest of us spend our days in so in effect we too are fasting. With this in mind, it leads to only one logical answer: shorter working hours across the board for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
