Die Hard 4 – Live Free or Die Hard
I’ve always been a fan of Bruce Willis. So OK, he’s not the best actor in the world but let’s face it ladies, he is very yummy indeed so his acting skill can be easily overlooked and it’s a pretty safe bet that his films are entertaining if not exactly Oscar potentials.
I couldn’t have been more disappointed! While the bald wonder was as good looking as ever and the film held many of the cheesy-but-fun lines we have come to love and expect from John McClane (Bruce’s character), the action scenes and storyline was so far fetched that it was both laughable and painful to watch.
Much as the world of movies encourages us to suspend disbelief, the possibility that a squad car can be aimed just right to take out a helicopter flying above, from which a passenger in said helicopter manages to land without a scratch on the ground bellow is just too far fetched for even our already jaded expectations – and that was one of the more believable stunts.
I managed to sit through it out of sheer will power but I was sorely tempted to storm out and demand my money back! Oh Brucy baby, what have you done?
