The Bahrain Yacht Club hosted a National Day Boat Parade at Zallaq, writes Shilpa Chandran.
Decorated in the Bahrain national colours of red and white, eight yachts and 27 power boats took to the sea from the club premises.
More than 180 children and adults set sail after a cake cutting ceremony by Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, one of the organisers of the event.
The Red and White-themed celebrations captured the imagination of the members for a second year running.
"The weather made the parade nice and easy," said David Summers, 27, water sports manager at the club.
More than BD340 was raised in aid of the Sitra Charity Fund.
Following the parade, a boat race was held.
