Stage set for Duathlon

The eighth DHL Bahrain Duathlon takes place on Friday at 8am from Al Jazayer beach.

The Bahrain Road Runners (BRR) under the umbrella of the Bahrain Athletics Association will be organising the championship which will feature a three km run followed by a 22 km cycle ride on main roads and finishes with a five km run.

It's open to all those who are aged 16 and above.

There will be a compulsory briefing for all participants before the race begins at 7.45am on championship rules and regulations.

Medical assistance and support will be provided by the Ministry of Health en route and there will be water stations at every kilometre on the 'run' route, and every five km on the cycle route and at the finish line serving water and Gatorade energy drink supplied by Jawad Group.

For the safety of the cyclists, one lane will be closed with cones by the Ministry of Housing and Works, coming out from Zallaq village into the highway - passing through the Malkiya traffic light - to the next traffic light - turning right - passing through the BIC - to Al Areen roundabout. Traffic police will also be supporting the event to direct and control traffic.

Registration will be open on the day from 7am to 7.45am at the race venue. Entry fee for BRR members is BD5 and non-members BD10.
