Motor City unveiled with grandeur the 2009 range of Japanese car brand, Subaru, at its new location on the Estiqlal Highway in Sanad.

Yann Lassade, general manager of Motor City, said: "We are very excited to be launching the 2009 Subaru range at our new showroom.

"Adding Subaru to our existing world-class brands gives our customers more choice.

"People have been really excited since our soft launch and we have already met our targets for this year.

"With our new showroom, we are hoping the sales will increase."

Masahiko Ishikawa, manager of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd, makers of Subaru automobiles, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Motor City on becoming our official retailer for Subaru in Bahrain and on the opening of the new Subaru showroom.

"I am very optimistic for the future of Subaru in Bahrain. With the recent increase in the automotive market by 40 per cent between 2005 and 2007, the new 2009 Subaru range is set to make its mark in the coming years."

Subaru uses advanced and rally-inspired engineering technology such as the symmetrical all-wheel-drive system (AWD) and the powerful horizontally opposed Boxer engine.

The AWD system ensures a safe passage in the event that should the wheels slip the torque distribution between the front and rear it is controlled automatically giving smoother traction on the road.

On October 18, Qatar's Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah, Subaru driver, won the FIA Middle East Rally Championship held in Jordan.

Mr Lassade said: "The brand's history with world rally championships has attracted many youngsters to the showroom and has been well accepted especially as racing is in the kingdom's blood."

Motor City now represents a range of the world's leading automotive brands including Volvo, Citro‘n, SsangYong and Chery as well as Subaru. The company is associated with commercial vehicles and heavy equipment.

These products, combined with a team of fully qualified sales and support staff, parts and service infrastructure, provide world class automobiles and industry leading levels of customer service.

The 2009 Subaru ranges in price from BD5,000 to BD14,000.
