On course for tee-off

Preparations are continuing in full swing for The Riffa Views Invitational, the world-class golf event that Riffa Views Signature Estates are hosting on their newly completed championship golf course, "The Montgomerie Course", this month.

The new course, over 7,200 yards in length, is already looking in great condition for the upcoming celebration, and with two more weeks of growth and conditioning to come, it will look even better on the day for the star-studded occasion.

First up on the first tee for the three-day golfing festival, due to run from 13th to 15th November, will be course designer and Riffa Views International Sporting Ambassador, Colin Montgomerie.

He will have the honour of hitting the commemorative, inaugural tee shot on the 424 yard Par 4 1st hole and with the experience from some 40 victories worldwide and eight appearances in the Ryder Cup, he will no doubt overcome any nerves and start the new golfing chapter at Riffa Views with a characteristic shot straight down the middle of the fairway.

Thereafter, Monty and his fellow star professionals, joined by the sporting legends - Sir Steve Redgrave, Boris Becker and Kapil Dev - and invited guests and VIPs, will look to challenge the new course in a variety of formats as it winds its way through the Riffa Views Signature Estates luxurious residential lifestyle development.

Camilo Villegas, the new Colombian golfing star, is obviously already warming up for a shot at the 'hole in one' prize, having scored a hole in one at the Castella Masters European Tour event over the weekend.

Richard Browning, CEO of Riffa Views, is in no doubt as to the quality of both the 18-hole championship 'Montgomerie Course' and the 9-hole Executive Par 3 Course and is very proud to be able to celebrate their completion with an event of the stature of The Riffa Views Invitational and with the calibre of star players on show.

He points out that whilst building work is still continuing on the development, the presence and availability of a magnificent facility such as the Montgomerie Course is a stunning addition within an overall project that is already regarded as second to none. The construction of the course and the way that it blends with the villas and other world-class facilities available at Riffa Views, is spectacular and a real triumph for Riffa Views, Monty and the design / project teams.

The Riffa Views Invitational is being supported by the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel &_Spa, EuroMotors - Land Rover, BIC, and Coca-Cola. The event, which is being organised in conjunction with the Royal Golf Club at Riffa Views, IMG and OC Sports Management, will be televised on Bahrain TV and throughout the world, the week after the event.
