BAHRAIN bagged one gold and two silver medals in the 62nd World Bodybuilding Championship held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
The medals were won by Hussain Jassim in the 75kg event while Abbas Makki and Tareq Al Farasani took a silver each in the 60kg and 90kg sections, respectively.
International Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) president Rafael Santonja of Spain attended the final which lived up to expectations with the world's top bodybuilders competing over nine weight categories.
The 60kg event was won by Ahmed Anwar of Egypt while the bronze was claimed by South Korea's Wangbung Cho.
In the 75kg, Jassim, pictured right, was followed by Slovakia's Igor Kocis in second place with South Africa's Shameen Adams third.
Iran's Ali Trabiz clinched the 90kg heavyweight category, followed by the 36-year-old Al Farsani, who was also the team captain and coach, and Olexssandr Slobodyanyuk of Ukraine was third.
