The Royal Golf Club hit an important construction landmark on Friday with the official turning on of floodlights on the club's two Colin Montgomerie-designed golf courses. The event was marked with an exclusive members-only golf tournament played across the back nine holes of the 18-hole Championship course.

The Individual Stableford was won by Glenn Stewart with 19 points, followed by Gino Gizzi (16 points on countback) and Sam Hobday with 16 points. Debbie Lane won nearest the pin on the 16th hole.

With scorching summer weather fast approaching, visitor golfers will now be able to take advantage of the cooler evening temperatures. Night golf tee times will be available every night from 5pm until 8.30pm.

"We're all very excited to be able to offer 'night golf' at last," said Michael Braidwood, the Royal Golf Club's general manager. "It's a huge bonus for all golfers during the hot summer months but remains popular throughout the year, especially with many business people who can't find time to play during the day."

"We're planning lots of exciting 'night golf' events over the summer including a corporate 'night golf' league," added Phil Jones, the club's director of golf operations.

Golfers wishing to book a 'night golf' tee time at the Royal Golf Club are invited to contact the reservations team on 17750777 or email info@theroyalgolfclub.com
