Twin Palms Riding Centre (TPRC) did hold a show jumping event over the weekend, however, I was unable to attend as I was cuddling my new little baby boy.
Yes, as of Monday, I am a proud mum! Naturally, I can't wait until baby is big enough to get on a pony and I look forward to cheering him on at events like the ones I write on.

As the hot and humid weather moves in, it is apparent summer is upon us and what we know as the show season has begun to wind down, at least in terms of competitive events.
Our four-legged friends have earned themselves some well deserved rest and recuperation, all in preparation for next season, which, will no doubt be upon us sooner than we can imagine. For the time being, we will all be enjoying meandering hacks in the sunset and early morning rides to beat the heat as well as general fun in the sun with our horses.
However, just before everything closes down for the summer, TPRC is holding a final equestrian extravaganza on May 15.
Last year the centre raised funds to build a fabulous canopy paddock at the rear of the stable, providing a brilliant shaded area for all horses to roam in and under during the summer months. The new canopy also allows riders to continue to exercise their mounts under cool conditions.
TPRC held a similar event last year to celebrate the opening of the new arena. There were a number of exciting events, such as the cowboy and Indian display, as well as a pony grand national and fabulous quadrille display, performed by TPRC riders to wonderful music and in perfect timing with one another.
This year, TPRC will celebrate the canopy's first anniversary and the day promises to be bigger and better than last year.
There will be stands selling fabulous French pastries, awesome horsey memorabilia and more cowboy and Indian displays (always great fun to watch, with the Red Indians in brightly coloured outfits and our Wild West cowboy in full regalia).
The quadrille this year will be performed by an all-adult riding team, dressed to impress and riding like superstars. I do believe we have another pony grand national lined up, be sure to have your cheering voice on as this is one fast class.
Please be sure to attend, even if you are not a rider, it really is a great day out and there are lots and lots going on. While the weather may have turned a little warmer the famous TPRC cafŽ shall be open, serving cool drinks and tasty treats. Bring your suncream, sunglasses and hat. I shall see you all there!
