Mšvenpick Hotel Bahrain has been chosen as the Middle East's leading airport hotel by the World Travel Awards 2009.

Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the 'travel industry's equivalent to the Oscar's', the ceremony held in Dubai is described as the most comprehensive and most prestigious awards programme in the global travel industry.

Jan Kaiser, general manager, was ecstatic about the award and said: "This is dedicated to our guests with whose support we have been able to achieve this prestigious award.

"I wish to thank everyone for their valuable contribution in making our hotel a success in Bahrain."

This year' poll was the highest in World Travel Awards'16-year history, with more than 170,000 industry professionals casting their votes for what they consider to be the very best travel and tourism products in the Middle East.

The 106-room hotel is situated on a lagoon across from the Bahrain International Airport and is renowned for its delicious buffets. It also boasts a gym, a swimming pool and tennis courts.
