The Sixth Annual Gulf Insurance Forum highlighting 'Developing GCC Markets and Products' will be held at the Gulf Hotel on November 4 and 5.

The Co-ordination Commission for Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Companies and the Bahrain Insurance Association, will jointly organise the forum under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Solidarity office in Seef Tower.

Ashraf Bseisu, chairman of the Bahrain Insurance Association, said: "Arab insurance markets have remained robust and are showing continued growth despite the economic downturn.

"However, regional markets must invest in enhancing local human resources in this sector, and elevating the level of insurance products in order to remain globally competitive."

The forum will feature four topics which will be the primary focus of the event proceedings: Inter-GCC insurance regulatory, web-based insurance applications, developing and retaining insurance human resources, and the image of the insurance industry in the GCC.

Also present at the briefing were Waleed Ahmed Mahmood, treasurer and Essam M Al Ansari, director.
