Preparations are being stepped up for a major trade exhibition in Bahrain in May which promises to showcase the cream of local, regional and international construction and interiors companies.

gulfBID, now in its fifth year, will be held in conjunction with the inaugural gulfINTERIORS@gulfBID exhibition from May 4 to 6 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). The event will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The unique complementary nature of the two exhibitions offers construction and interiors companies an unrivalled opportunity to raise market profile, accomplish superior brand awareness, network with clients and showcase the latest products, services and solutions in the prosperous Northern Gulf.

gulfBID2010 will feature a diverse array of construction products, services and technologies across eight core product categories - building and construction, water technology and environment, air conditioning and refrigeration, cleaning and maintenance, glass and metal, bathrooms and ceramics, marble and machinery, construction plant, machinery and vehicles.

gulfINTERIORS@gulfBID, meanwhile, will see renowned names from the interior design industry showcase products from contract and residential furniture, interior design services and contracting, textiles and upholstery fabrics, beds and bedding, flooring and wallcoverings, lighting, kitchens and bathrooms, art and accessories, ceramics, marble and granite, outdoor living, retail services, hospitality and office fit out categories.

The exhibitions are organised by Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE). Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director, HCE, said: "Gulf construction and interior design sectors are being re-energised by global economic recovery. Now is the time for ambitious companies to leverage opportunities in the Northern Gulf, and the twin exhibitions give them the ideal platform to meet their objectives. Furthermore, a combined gulfBID and gulfINTERIORS@gulfBID model now offers visitors the complete buying and specifying chain."

The exhibitions will be complemented by the Green Building Forum, a platform for intellectual debate on environmental strategy, innovation and legislation and its impacts on the Gulf's construction industry. The Forum, organised by leading international event consultancy North Star Associates in association with HCE, takes place at the BIEC on May 5.
