Regional Takaful (Islamic Insurance) company t'azur, based in Bahrain, will sponsor the annual Quran Memorization Contest held by Wahat Al Quran in Al Eslah Society taking place next month.
Contestants ranging from grades 1 - 12 from schools across the kingdom compete in the annual contest for the meticulous rendition of the Holy Quran and to have the chance to win prizes.
Contestants are chosen at a qualifying ceremony presided over by a panel consisting of local Islamic scholars.
"The 13th edition of the contest last year attracted 200 participants including both boys and girls from over 60 schools," said chairman of Wahat Al-Qur'an, Sheikh Abdul-Rahman Al-Moosa. To qualify all contestants must be able to recite the entire chapters chosen from the Holy Quran from memory. Participation in the competition is open for Bahrainis and expatriates.
