An improvised jamming session and music performances will mark the return of the Elham Arts Group on December 23 at Alriwaq Art Space.

Local musicians and sound artists will come together to 'jam' in the outdoor setting of the newly-opened cafŽ of Alriwaq Art Space in Adliya, fusing a variety of musical genres and styles including jazz, blues, oriental and experimental music.

Among those performing will be the members of the hot Bahraini rock and blues band The Tryout and Bahraini oud player and sound artist Hasan Al Hujairi.

The free event, which will start at 8pm, will be the first of a series of satellite events organised by Elham over the coming few months in the lead up to next year's edition of its alternative arts festival.

Following the jam night, Elham is hoping to organise a movie night, in which a selection of local films will be screened to the public in an outdoor setting, in addition to the popular annual photographers' day out. Finally, the group will also host another open mic night, where members of the public can take to the stage to share their talent and creativity with others. Details of all these events will be announced shortly.
