Over 10,000 spectators enjoyed a historic final round of the 2010/2011 Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship at the Sakhir quarter-mile strip as drivers and riders in both the car and motorbike categories were determined to end their seasons on a high note.
The event was held as part of the first-ever 'National Racing Finals', which paired the drag racing series with the Bahrain International Circuit 2000cc Challenge.
Events on the strip were organised by the Bahrain Drag Racing Club, which falls under the umbrella of the Bahrain Motor Federation, and held under the auspices of Bahrain International Circuit.
Apart from the racing, there was plenty of off-the-track entertainment. Spectators also had a chance to sign a pair of books - one pledging their loyalty, love and belonging to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the country's leadership, and the other in support of a quick return of the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix to the island.
